  1. Rose, to "double space the text" means that there should be a blank line of space between every line of text. It makes everything easier to read.

Here's how you double space your text if you are using Microsoft Word to write your story: First, highlight or select the text you want to double-space (this should be your entire story). Then, go to "Format," a button which you should be able to find along the top of your screen. A list will drop down and one of the options on the list will be "Paragraph..." Click that option and a pop up box will appear. Under "Line spacing" there should be a list of options. Choose "Double" and click "Ok."

If this explanation doesn't help or you have any other questions, please let me know.

  2. Thank you for your question about "bolding" text in your story!

There are no rules against making certain words "bold" in your story. However, that said, bold text is rarely used in fiction writing, except for chapter titles or other formatting purposes. Italics are a far more common method for emphasizing certain words in sentences. So please keep that in mind.

If you have any other questions, feel free to ask!
